In 2011/12, in association with the Eel Pie Club at the Cabbage Patch Public
House in Twickenham and the Arts Richmond team at Orleans House we will be
working on a local heritage project documenting the musical history of Eel
Pie Island, which remains a key influence on the UK music scene today. The
project will have four strands:
MUSIC: we will run gigs and put on bands at local festivals
EXHIBITION: we will put on an exhibition celebrating the musical history of
the area including memorabilia, written accounts and sound samples from Eel
Pie artists from yesteryear to the present
FILM: we will produce a film interviewing key players, fans and local
residents from the 60s to the present day
PUBLICATION: we will produce a booklet bringing all the exciting material we
have collated into one format
WORKSHOPS: there will be the opportunity to book workshops for schools and
youth groups based around musical activities which explore the Eel Pie
Island story
